Mr. Stewart: AP World History Timeline  

Develop a "history of the world" timeline starting in 8000BCE and ending in 600CE. Be as creative as you want and use both primary and secondary source materials. This research guide will show you how to use online secondary sources.

Books In our Library

Database Research

1.  The database passwords can be found by logging into Cubview, then search for the Burns Library Cubview page  http://cubview.loyolahs.edu/pg/groups/143509/fritz-b-burns-library/  -- "Databases for Research." 

2.  Search these databases for your World History topic. 

  • ABC-CLIO SOCIAL STUDIES
    1. After logging in, choose "World History: Ancient & Medieval Eras" link.
    2. Choose ERAS Tab above. Look for headings THE NEOLITHIC REVOLUTION and THE EMERGENCE OF CIVILIZATIONS.
    3. Click on the articles in blue under those headings.
    4. You can also try clicking on more items in left frame, like Events, specific conflicts, people, etc.
  • EBSCO Student Research Center
    1. After logging in, click on "Student Research Center."
    2. In the search line, type (w/out quotes) "Sumerian civilization."
    3. There are quite a few articles that should be of interest.
